A serious accident near Vratsa closed the road to Oryahovo, a BulNews reporter first saw it.
The road accident occurred minutes ago on one of the bends between Vratsa and Mramoren. According to unofficial information, a Honda car stopped shortly before a right turn because the driver felt sick.
However, a Mercedes with Spanish registration and a Volkswagen with a Vratsa license plate entered the bend at high speed.
The drivers of both cars are young men. The driver of the Mercedes saw the stopped car at the last moment and slammed on the brakes.
A violent impact between the two vehicles followed, which was so strong that the Mercedes spun and hit the guardrail.
There was serious material damage to the cars.
A woman from the Volkswagen was injured in the accident, who is conscious and in contact.
Witnesses to the horrific accident immediately reported the incident to 112 and a police patrol, ambulance and fire department arrived at the scene. The victim was taken to the hospital in Vratsa by a specialized vehicle.
After the ambulance left, the 27-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who is from Mramore, fainted and has already been taken to the emergency room by his relatives.
Due to the serious accident, the road will remain closed for several hours and for this reason a police patrol is redirecting traffic through Chiren.
An investigator on duty is also due to arrive at the scene to conduct an inspection.
