Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children have reunited with their grandfather, King Charles, for the first time in four years.
Buckingham Palace confirmed that King Charles and Queen Camilla welcomed Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their two children, 7-year-old Prince Archie and 5-year-old Princess Lilibet, to Highgrove House on Friday, July 10.
Photos of the family reunion at the King’s private residence in Gloucestershire, England, are not expected to be released.
The last time King Charles, 77, saw his grandchildren was in 2022, when they attended the Platinum Jubilee celebrations for Queen Elizabeth II.
Initially, there was uncertainty over whether Meghan Markle and the children would make the trip because of ongoing security concerns.
In June, reports suggested that the entire family would travel from the United States to England for the long-awaited reunion with King Charles. But by July, those plans appeared to have collapsed after they were denied taxpayer-funded security guarantees.
« Their plans to see their family, friends, and visit various charitable causes close to the Duke’s heart were ripped from under their feet at the 11th hour, » a source told *The Guardian* at the time.
According to an insider, the Duke of Sussex, 41, was « looking at all options to try and bring » Meghan, 44, and their children to England « safely and keep them secure while on the ground. »
